If you are contemplating on opening a new bank account then read this first. There are several things that you need to consider before you run off and open your new bank account. Some banks will offer you free checks for the life of your account. Other banks will offer you no service charges for keeping your account active and open. Other banks will try to pull you in with free gifts such as new luggage, or a new TV, or a smoothie blender. Try not to fall for gimmicks. Make sure that the bank account has no service charges and pays you interest on the amount in your account. If you open an account with those two principles then you will be far ahead of others. There are banks that offer those to customers because I am one of them.
