The American Red Cross

The American Red Cross is the United States’ premier emergency response association. It was established in 1881 by visionary leader Clara Barton to provide charitable care to the casualties of war and supporting victims of devastating natural disasters.

As time passes by, the service of the American Red Cross expanded by including compassionate services in five more branches including the following: “(1) community services that help the needy (2) help and comfort for military members and their families (3) the collection, processing and distribution of lifesaving blood and blood merchandises (4) educational programs that promote health and security (5) and global assistance and development programs.”
