Adventures in Decorating
The summer after my boyfriend and I were freshly minted college grads we decided to splurge and spend a year in Spain. Immediately we went to the Net, rented a house sight unseen, and set off cheerfully, knowing everything.
Our first of many wake up calls came when we opened the door to our quaint little hacienda. The walls were bare, the floor was bare, and the cupboards were bare. There wasn’t a piece of furniture to be found.
But not for nothing had we gone to college. After a night sleeping and eating on the floor, we found food (first things first) at a cyber cafe then, laptop in hand, jumped on the Internet. We quickly located a company which was happy to provide furniture packages in Spain.
Within a short time we were relaxing on our new sofa and congratulating ourselves. For the moment we again knew everything.
