Where to look for insurance companies
A great place to start your search for insurance companies is online at one of the more prominent search engines such as Google or Yahoo, then do a search for the type of insurance that you need. For instance, if you are buying your first home, type in “homeowners insurance” and see what pops up.
One word of caution, though - don’t assume that the first few sites that you uncover represent the best insurance companies on the market. Scroll down a little bit and find at least 5-10 to look over. That way you can find the best company that matches your needs.
