I have never worried about getting travel insurance Australia before but I think I will buy a plan for this trip. I will be away for 5 months and I’m not expecting anything bad to happen, but it is often when you’re not expecting it that it does. I did get a couple of quotes too, and it’s not actually as expensive as I thought it would be. Especially online and not through a travel agent - I found one website that offers a 25% discount. I think I’ll go ahead a buy anyway, that way I will have cover for cancellation fees/deposits.
